During the break between Christmas and New Year, many review the past year and what we would like to achieve in 2023.
We often hear our clients state that they plan to post more frequently or be more dynamic on LinkedIn when asked what their plans are for 2023 – likely as a result of presuming this is what they think we want them to say!
If you are one of those people, we have created a 10-step guide to make sure that your time and effort are maximized when it comes to reach. These steps will ensure that the LinkedIn algorithm is working for you, not against you so that the largest possible number of people see your post, as well as the people you want to see it.
We propose that everyone include LinkedIn posting in their business calendar, with realistic goals such as 1 or 2 posts per week, an article per month, and taking the time to read and comment on the posts of those you follow or are connected to.
Here are our 10 steps to ensure your LinkedIn posts reach the right people:
- Check and monitor your SSI score regularly and set yourself a goal for the end of 2023.
- Use hashtags and emoticons but not more than 10.
- Write posts between 1200-1500 characters.
- Turn on creator mode.
- Post in the mid-late morning Monday – Friday, a little
- Don’t edit your post in the first 10 minutes after posting.
- Respond to comments on your post within 12 hours.
- If you are doing a poll, make it a 2-answer option.
- If posting a video, then use Vimeo, not YouTube.
- Set both “who can see your post” and “who can comment on your post” to ‘Anyone’.
We hope that helps and look forward to seeing your social feed!
